Platforming myself & A month of hiatus

Platforming myself & A month of hiatus

Hello, alien lovers!

People I love are reading this newsletter to get news from me or to support my weird, independent, solarpunk-wannabe (more on that in a future letter) publishing platform.

I'm not using social media anymore and will soon delete my FB and Instagram accounts and transition all my "social" content to this newsletter. That way, I limit myself to one letter to the world each week—a fair number for myself and the world. (We'll see. Maybe we'll all collectively discover that opening my mouth 52 times a year is too much!)

I believe that means I'm platforming myself... right?

It's weird to be like, "yes, people care about what I write and enjoy reading my shit," and to believe it and be chill about it? What if I fuck up? What if I disappoint? What if I lose myself in the process?

But, also, here's a random picture of me from a night out in Vancouver!

The only thing I remember about this picture is how high I was when I took it.

It's been a month of hiatus for Perilous Love Stars...

Wikipedia lists three main reasons for hiatus in TV shows:

  • Planned: it's part of the production schedule and was strategized around, often capitalized on with the "mid-season" cliffhanger in the show's story. (Not the case here.)
  • Cancellation: the show is in danger because it's not performing to expectations. (Also not the case here.)
  • Other Reasons: Various & diverse, including that the author is a grad school student and has to engage in mindful stretching and breathing for at least two hours a day so she doesn't feel the need to throw herself from a bridge.

See you next week with maybe a new chapter???

If you're new to the story, start with Chapter 1.

If you missed the last chapter, Previously on Perilous Love Stars.
